“For me, the referent is ever-present… when I weigh what I see with the eye of the body, the mind, and the soul,” Flondor reflects.
In Claviatură în grădină: Privirea călătoare, Flondor’s recent works resonate with the concepts he developed during the 1960s and 70s. His paintings, described as sensitive mediums, center on microcosms—spaces of resonance where rhythmic forms and symbolic meanings intertwine with the artist's emotional and reflective experiences.
This exhibition was made possible thanks to the support of Horațiu Iovănș and Alexandru Păsat at Parter Gallery.
Decebal Scriba, Records beyond vision
Records Beyond Vision, which brought together works from the past and present, was a monographic continuation of the collaboration with our gallery. We presented part of Decebal Scriba's works in the group exhibition In & Out in 2022.
Decebal Scriba, born in 1944, was in the early 1970s one of the most prominent figures and a kingpin of the Romanian avant-garde. His experiments are now an integral part of the history of those key years. During that decade, Decebal produced a coherent and elaborate body of work, focusing on a conceptual and performative perspective addressing issues of formal and textual language, analysis of the system of spatial representation, attitudes and symbolic forms, as well as 'actions', which emerged as an autonomous genre.

Jonathan Meyer, Holding Pattern
ISHO, Timisoara / Jecza Gallery, Timisoara
Holding Pattern was a journey through hope, devastation, and the intricate dance between language and meaning in Meyer's works.
It says, with humility, without piety, that it is clinging to small hope. That there can be devastation without despair, and that the rage knows how to drive. Among these works are oscillations in scale and scope, in and out of reason.

Cristian Sida, Sparring partners
The exhibition brought together approximately 40 recent works, blending works on paper and interventions on photographies, alongside large and medium-sized works from the series "Pour les privés d'amour et de pinard, Pigerolles, Corsica - Biguglia (2016 - 2024)."
Inspired from Paolo Conte's legendary 1984 song of the same title, Cristian Sida asserts his place and existence through art, treating the subconscious as a sparring partner and using creation as a universal cure and therapy.

Tincuța Marin, Where the Sun Sleeps
Oratorio dei Crociferi, Venice
Where the Sun Sleeps is an evocative installation by Romanian artist Tincuța Marin unfolding in the historic Oratorio dei Crociferi alongside Palma il Giovane's most significant Renaissance cycle of paintings. Chronicling the Crociferi Order's evolution from its 12th-century beginnings in support of the Crusades to its liturgical and charitable transformation, these works provide a profound context for Marin's exploration. Executed between 1583 and 1592, Palma's cycle is one of the few singular artistic achievements of sixteenth-century Venetian art, rivalling Tintoretto's work for the Scuola Grande di San Rocco. Within this space, where history meets spiritual contemplation, and art gazes upon art, Marin's installation emerges powerfully, weaving together historical layers and diverse artistic styles.

Grey Crawford and Iosif Király, Systems | East-West
Jecza Gallery, Timisoara
The exhibition presented a compelling dialogue between the works of Grey Crawford and Iosif Király, two artists whose paths, though separated by geography and politics, reveal striking synchronicities in their conceptual and photographic approaches. Curated by Asia Zak Persons, this exhibition celebrated their individual achievements while underscoring the universal language of art that transcends diverse perspectives and histories.

Vladiana Ghiulvessi, Walking the Labyrinth
"Like a walnut on the wall"/ „Ca nuca în perete”, was the reply of a professor to the entrance exam to the Faculty of Painting at UAD Cluj. "There must be a walnut," was Vladiana's reply. Because what could be farther from the (then) uniformizing grey of Cluj, phenomenological as a state, than this deductive, analytical practice, which involves systems much broader than the struggle of individuation.
The works seem almost without author, untouched by statistical acheiropoieta, as if they had been made by the chosen environment and pattern itself, emphasizing that kind of analytic, positivist aesthetics.

Ana Maria Ștefan, Szidonia Bandi , Cristina Chirila, Cristina Dimuș, Diana Oană, Moldovan Paul Darius, Luana Cloșca, Diana Popuț and Tania Șimonca, Unveiling the Traces of My Own Shadow
a Himera x Jecza Gallery collaboration
at Himera Gallery, Isho Timisoara
The exhibition presented a well curated collection of a group of visual artists, each of whom, through painting, graphics, photography, sculpture and ceramics, embody the play of the „absent present”.
Following the traces we leave throughout life and the shadow of our own selves, these lead us to a journey of introspection and reflection on our human identity. In this context the „trace” represents the imprints left by our experiences, while „shadow” suggests the subtle and also invisible presence that shapes.

Constantin Flondor, Whispers In The Garden
RKI Berlin
Conceived by the artist as an intermezzo between his most recent works and the defining visual experimentation and study of the 1960s and 70s, the exhibition WHISPERS IN THE GARDEN invited viewers on a journey through the system of referents that has faithfully guided his creative path for nearly fifty years, linking the various stages of his artistic evolution.

Laurian Popa, Here, now you don’t exist!
„We are dealing with a generous space, both visually and theoretically. One that must certainly be discussed from the perspective of an author practicing specifically in the medium of painting, after the 2010s.That is to say, when, on top of the themes [unchallenged at the time] related to the difficult transition to a new system, to the fractures of the old one, almost two decades of neo-liberalism, capital markets and vertical connections to the West had already been laid down in most fields of activity or authorial. A theme that is also relevant to the specific international context of post-war art, where the death of painting is routinely questioned every ten years, only for the same dominant constant to remain in museum institutions and the mechanisms of the art market.”
Horatiu Lipot

Anita Schmid, Transcendental Translation
Inherently delicate, sensuous and celebratory, Schmid’s artworks draw back to a nurturing view of nature: patterns of benevolence permeate the room, an ascensional sense of peace of sight that has been longed for, a warm matrilineal knowledge passed to the next generation create a balanced equilibrium.

Constantin Flondor featured at STAGE Bregenz

Constantin Flondor is a founding member of the groups 1+1+1 (1966-1969), Sigma (1969-1981) and Prolog (since 1985). Both his solo works and collaborative projects were markedly influenced by constructivism and rooted in algorithms, so that each element of a work was also a data bit.

Anita Schmid and Molnár Zoltán featured at Vienna Contemporary 2024
This year, our booth presented a compelling juxtaposition of these two artists. The dialogue between them spans generations, crafting gateways that transcend where logic ceases and consciousness flourishes. Figurative, feminine elements delicately woven into soft pastel pigments on textured paper encounter geometric shapes infused with abstract natural forms, mathematics, and music, illustrating the conceptual connections within the artworks.

Constantin Flondor and Iosif Kiraly featured at Paris Photo 2024
Jecza Gallery has chosen to present two important historical figures at this edition of Paris photo: Constantin Flondor and Iosif Kiraly. The latter began as a disciple of the former while still in high school.
Constantin Flondor is a Romanian visual artist, and educator, born in 1936, in Cernăuți (now part of Ukraine). He is considered one of the most important figures in Romanian contemporary art, particularly known for his contributions to conceptual and experimental art.
Iosif Király is a Romanian visual artist, photographer, and educator, known for his interdisciplinary approach that blends photography, architecture, and conceptual art. His work often explores themes related to memory, perception, and the passage of time, utilizing techniques such as montage and digital manipulation to create complex, multi-layered images.
This curated selection serves as a cultural conduit, connecting an older generation of artists with a new wave and emphasizing the introduction of Eastern perspectives on art to a Western audience within the context of the fair.
