Initiated by Jecza Gallery, There Were Times I Wanted to Change the World is a large-scale collaborative exhibition presented at PALTIM in Timișoara from 31 May to 13 July 2025 as part of the Art Encounters Biennial 2025 Complementary Platform. Curated by Diana Marincu, the exhibition brings together seven galleries from Romania and the Republic of Moldova and features works by 26 established and emerging contemporary artists. Through a curatorial inquiry into the notions of the monstrous, the mirror as metaphor, and the simulacrum, the exhibition explores the ways in which contemporary art constructs, deconstructs, and reimagines visual reality. The feature highlights Jecza Gallery's role in initiating the project and fostering dialogue between regional galleries, artists, and audiences within Romania's evolving contemporary art landscape.
