King Bronze: curated by Sorina & Andrei Jecza
Jecza Gallery and the Interart Triade Foundation invite you at an encounter with King Bronze on Wednesday, September 27th, at 7:00 PM. We'll explore the path that sculptor Peter Jecza walked, creating over 1200 impressive artworks along the way.
Peter Jecza (b. 1939 – d. 2009), renowned nationally and internationally, is regarded as a pioneer in contemporary Romanian sculpture. His body of work, comprising over 1200 cataloged pieces, explores a wide spectrum of sculptural styles. "King Bronze" serves as a condensed expression of this diversity, and brings together not only his well-known sculptures but also sketches that have remained hidden from the public eye.
Almost 15 years after the artist's passing, Jecza Gallery, bearing his name, proudly showcases his creations. This exhibition unveils the authenticity of his creative process, marked by experimentation and trials, all refined by the timeless power of simplicity.
Curated by Andrei and Sorina Jecza, the exhibition's journey is accompanied by a series of musical events, underlining the close bond between sculptural forms and sound.
Renowned electronic music producer, DJ, and composer Petre Inspirescu has created a special composition inspired by Peter Jecza's sculptures, debuting this piece during the opening and making it available for weekly listenings at the gallery.
In a year where Timișoara celebrates its cultural prominence in Europe, this exhibition also recognizes Peter Jecza's enduring legacy. Through his art, he forever linked his name with the city, leaving behind a symbol of balance, harmony, and beauty.
The Interart Triade Foundation proudly carries forward this artist's remarkable legacy.
During the opening weekend of the Brâncuși exhibition, the gallery will remain open with extended hours until 10:00 PM daily.
