The exhibition Utopia and Research. The Experimental Groups 111 and Sigma (1966–1981), presented at the National Museum of Art Timișoara, revisits the pioneering practices of the experimental collectives 111 and Sigma, whose interdisciplinary approach transformed the relationship between art, science, education, and the natural environment. Featuring key works by Ștefan Bertalan, Roman Cotoșman, Constantin Flondor, and their collaborators, the exhibition traces the development of one of Romania's most influential artistic movements. The review published in Revista 22reflects on the historical significance of these groups and their enduring legacy for contemporary art in Timișoara, a context closely intertwined with Jecza Gallery's long-standing commitment to preserving and promoting the city's artistic heritage.
