Jecza Gallery is pleased to contribute to the exhibition Paul Neagu. Generative Codes, organized by Artwill, with the work Triplu Hyphen / Triple Hyphen (Ottawa Hyphen) (1983).

The exhibition brings together a concise overview of Paul Neagu’s artistic trajectory, from his early tactile experiments in Romania to the development of complex artistic systems in the United Kingdom, expressed through drawing, objects, performance, and sculpture. His practice reflects a continuous search for unity through “open axiomatic” structures, combining material presence with philosophical and ritual dimensions.
A key moment in this evolution is the emergence of the Hyphen—a sculptural form that acts simultaneously as connector and separator, articulating the dynamic relationship between parts and whole. The work presented by Jecza Gallery reflects this mature phase of Neagu’s practice. Constructed from recycled wood and assembled with visible mechanical elements, Triplu Hyphen / Triple Hyphen (Ottawa Hyphen) emphasizes structure, balance, and the spatial logic central to his work.
The exhibition is on view from 18 April to 31 May 2026 at 54 Duetului Street, Bucharest, and can be visited every Saturday and Sunday, between 10:00 and 18:00. You can discover more here.
