"The idea that sculpture is a timeless art is a prejudice. The musical dimension of sculpture, in the sense of its unfolding in time, derives from its three-dimensionality. Sculpture does not present itself to the viewer within a single plane. In order to truly see it, one is compelled to move around it, to discover all its forms. This multiplicity of viewing angles becomes time. Three-dimensional space grants sculpture its temporality.

The difference between sculpture and the narrative arts, however, lies elsewhere: the latter are analytical, offering fragments of meaning and inviting one toward a synthesis that transcends the narrative itself, whereas sculpture offers, from the very beginning, essences from which one may reconstruct and unfold “stories.”, Peter Jecza
