In Resita, this year will host the second edition of the ReMetal Sculpture symposium, a project that is part of the city's strategy for urban regeneration through creative industries.

This year, the project is curated by Erwin Kessler, an art historian and the director of MARe, the Museum of Recent Art, and produced by Valentin Savu, a collector and cultural producer. The invited artists for this year to contribute to the development of the monumental sculpture heritage are: Anca Mureșan, Marian Zidaru, Mircea Roman, Nicolae Comănescu, Dan Vezentan, and Marius Leonte.

"ReMetal is a project through which we aim to carry forward the city's heritage by urban regeneration of emblematic areas and the development of creative industries related to the 250-year history of metal processing," say the representatives of the Resita City Hall.

The first edition, ReMetal Sculpture Resita 2021, was realized through the opening of the first six monumental metal sculptures by sculptors Doru Covrig, Roman Cotoșman, Constantin Flondor, Ingo Glass, Peter Jecza, and Aurel Vlad, placed in front of the Minda Hall (an open space) on December 6, 2021.

The launch of the 2022 edition of ReMetal Sculpture Resita will take place on Monday, May 30, at the Minda Hall, starting at 10:00 AM.
