These portraits of the art communities’ members which subREAL met during their multiple residencies across Europe restage the photographic procedure identified in the negatives from the archives of Arta magazine. Whereas Serving Art was a process whereby images from an archive were deconstructed, this project is a reconstruction. The “servants” of art are the artists themselves, holding the cloth backdrop.
