Blanca Amorós

Overview
Blanca Amorós is a Spanish artist based in Vienna. Her mysterious and yet familiar paintings, based on found photographs and other archival source materials, deconstruct with irony some mythologies of our post-industrial society.

Blanca Amorós was born in 1990 in Elche, Spain. From 2008 to 2013 she studied art at the Univ. Politécnica de Valencia, Spain, where she was awarded the prize for best graduate of the class of 2013. During her studies at the Facultad de Bellas Artes de Valencia, she had the opportunity to work intensively on learning a variety of classical painting and drawing techniques. In 2018, she completed her studies in painting and graphic arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Prof. Doberauer. Between 2016 and 2017, she studied with an Erasmus scholarship at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna with Prof. Henning Bohl.

Among others, her works were exhibited in Taiwan, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Austria. In 2015, she received the 1st prize at the 4th Edition Nazarte Award (Valencia, ES) . In 2019, her work was rewarded with the Fischer/Collegen Art Award (Stuttgart, DE). She lives and works in Vienna.
