Jecza&Ross Gallery participated, for the first time since its foundation, at the international art fair in Austria: “Vienna Fair 2011”. The selection of artists includes some of the members of Timisoara avant-garde from 1965-1980, together with two very young artists of the new generation. The project is a sort of curatorial “remix” that brings together artists from different generations. There will be, on one hand, those artists who put Timisoara on the map as far as contemporary practices are concerned: experiment, photography, video art, performance, which became the main media between 1965 and 1980, thanks to groups such as 1.1.1. and Sigma (Roman Cotoşman, Constantin Flondor, Ştefan Bertalan, Doru Tulcan) or other artists considered emblematic for this period - Paul Neagu and Molnar Zoltan. On the other hand, the project aims to present the way in which the artistic paradigm and these artists’ influence has been transmitted to the young generation, one which has taken its distance with Romanian social neo-realism and has gone to experiment in the abstract-conceptual area. The artists of this trend, represented at the fair by Jecza Gallery, are ZANGA and Mădălina Lazăr.
